Claw – new seal base

Cutting a window profile during manufacture exerts a particularly high degree of stress on the seal base.

The newly developed seal base from Semperit – which can be used with almost all seal geometries – not only significantly increases the resistance to displacement by up to 35% compared to conventional geometries, it also reduces the installation force by up to 50%.

This patent pending seal base has been very successfully used in practical applications for about a year.

Informed development, supported by the Finite Element Method (FEM), and a series of tests carried out in Semperit’s in-house test center, have directly and specifically improved manufacturing processes through targeted optimization of design criteria for mandrels, inner walls, external wall thicknesses, backward hooks and hollow bodies. The result of this innovative new development is now being used to benefit all of our customers.
